ChristmasTown, USA

by The Rock Relic

If you’re gonna have Christmas this year, you’ve gotta take in the most beautiful display of lighting this side of the Aurora Borealis.

It’s the annual Christmas display in the town of McAdenville, not too far from Charlotte itself (just beyond Belmont. About 14 miles away from here). The lights are amazing, and the soft sounds of Christmas waft through various areas of town. You’ll wanna keep your windows down a bit to get the feeling … and be sure to take your camera!

One thing I wanna remind you, though: Be sure to use the bathroom before you leave the house! You’ll be driving s l o w l y as the cars in front of you all move in “grandmaw” gear as drivers check out the lights themselves!

The lights glow nightly Monday - Friday 5:30 - 9:30 pm and
Saturday & Sunday 5:30 - 11:00 pm, starting tomorrow night, November 30, and continuing until December 26. Best bet: Use Mondays or Tuesdays to travel. Usually, you’ll have better traffic flow!

Believe me, it’s worth the trip … and then some! So pack up the kids, get a good thermos of coffee and a few snacks for the young’uns, and go!

Who knows? You might even run across a Relic comin’ back from the scene …
