About Chuck

CHUCK HINSON is a freelance writer and announcer who hails from Charlotte, NC. A divorced father of three (grown and in the Navy), this left-hander started his career as a syndicated columnist in the nearby town of Pineville in 1986. Three years later, he produced and narrated the successful Birth of Superock! oldies “rockumentary.”

In 2000, after a business trip to Canada, he was inspired to begin his own small monthly newspaper. During this time, he also did voiceovers and announced for local sports-entertainment events.

After 6 1/2 years of working 20-hour days, he folded his newspaper (no pun intended necessarily) and began freelance writing. His love and fervor for his hometown led him to produce entries for this blog.

Chuck’s interests are varied: Oldies rock-and-roll (which he has studied for over a quarter-century), psychology, humor, every facet of his hometown, pets and, of course, writing. He’s one of the most motivated, optimistic people on the world-wide web, and hopes you’ll enjoy his blog and come back often.
