Well, it looks like I’m gonna be losin’ a coupla friends in a few weeks, as Norma and Gene (real names) are gonna be headin’ out west to their “winter” home in Las Vegas.
Huh?? Wellllll, maybe a little jealous, ’cause there’s so much to do and see there! But, then again, I’m perfectly happy bein’ a full-fledged Crown Towner …

I’ve been to Atlantic City East (awww, it’s a runnin’ gag with Easterners) and can tell ya that, on any given occasion, you’ll run across more than a few locals there. For example, take in a Tom Jones concert, and I can almost guarantee at least one or two Charlotteans in the audience!

One more thing, though: When each one of ‘em leaves the casinos, the hotels, the theatres and performances to catch the next flight here, they always seem happier to be back. Awwww, you know why, don’tcha? ‘Cause we’ve got the best of everything, right here in our own backyard!

(sigh!) But Norma and Gene are thinkin’ about stayin’ there (actually, on the outskirts of town. A little place called Henderson) … and we all wish ‘em the best, should they decide to do so.
